CODAN - NO DEHP CODAN enhances its pioneering role by complete avoidance of DEHP plasticisers IT IS A GREAT FEELING TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE Safety is making headway: the market has now been debating DEHP for quite some time. As an innovation leader, CODAN is setting an example and from now on will completely cease the use of this contentious plasticiser thus ensuring that a potential health hazard will be excluded in the long term. Numerous plasticisers are available to provide an alternative to DEHP. Taking strict quality standards into account, CODAN has opted for the use of high-grade TOTM, which in future will satisfy the need for tubing flexibility. Through this renunciation of DEHP-plasticised PVC tubing CODAN is ending uncertainty in the market – it is stating its position and acknowledging its responsibility as a medical products manufacturer. Hospitals in particular can now play it safe in terms of the European Community Regulation on chemicals REACH. Concern for the patient and minimizing of health risks are assuming priority.
